Obituary

Ray O. Oaks, 72, of Peru passed away at 9:33 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2022 at Wesleyan Health

and Rehabilitation Center in Marion.  Born on August 2, 1950 in Peru, he was the son of the late

Norman Oaks and Martha Sutton Oaks. 

Ray was a United States Marine Veteran and a recipient of a Purple Heart. He also retired from Chrysler as an assembly worker.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Oaks, son, Paul (Susan) Oaks, step son, John Fincher, daughters, Jessica Scherer, Stephanie (Tim) Warnock, brothers, Alan (Jennifer), Don, Danny, sisters, Rita Schelonk, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy, Carl, Gary, and sister, June Stark.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, at Riverview Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Burial with Military Rites will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru.
