Margery Lynn Black, 68, of Peru passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Dukes Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 14, 1953 in Petoskey, Michigan, she was the daughter of Richard (Mickey) Conkright and Marlene Burrows Heuer (John).
She married Stephen Coblentz in 1970, and they had two children Stephen Coblentz Jr, and Jenny Rebecca Coblentz.
On March 4, 1995 she married the love of her life, Thomas Black. They spent 25 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death on June 24, 2018.
Margery began her career in healthcare as a certified nurse’s aide at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru at a young age. She furthered her education by receiving her nursing degree in 1981 and continued to serve the community at Miller’s Merry Manor for 40 years.
Survivors include Margery’s “baby” her pride and joy, daughter Jenny Coblentz Ross (Jeremy) of Peru; her “boys” step sons , Chad Black (Kaylie Hartleroad) of Peru and Zach Black (Megan) of Peru; mother, Marlene Heuer of Kokomo; sister, Joanne LaFleur (Alan) of Kokomo; grandchildren, Krystenn Harts, Steven McBride, Kelli Wolfe, Kylie Wolfe, Patience Black, Brylee Smith, Zoe Black, Jett Black, Aden Black; and great-grandson Chandler Harts.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Coblentz Jr.; Sister Patsy Henderson; step-father John Heuer; and her father, Richard Conkright.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2022 at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St., Peru.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
