John Jacob (Johnny-O) Olson

John (Johnny-O) Jacob Olson, 57, passed away in Ft. Wayne on January 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. John was born on April 26, 1961 in Colorado to Raymond L. and Patricia A. (Ammel) Olson. John was one of nine children.              

John graduated from Peru High School in 1979. John enjoyed music, cooking, spending time with his family and friends. He was an amazing photographer, working in Indianapolis for many famous athletes and public figures. John was a fun loving and generous person. He never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. He loved making people laugh and would often be the life of the party. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

John is survived by his daughters; Chrysta Reibly and Kathleen Stoker, son; John Daniel (Buddy) Olson, grandchildren, Parker Olson-Haynes, great granddaughter; Stella Leigh Haynes. John is also survived by four sisters; Patricia-Cookie Whybrew, Sharon (Bill) Shuey, Janice (Nathan) Gardner, and Edith-Dede (Jay) Scragg, one brother; Mark Olson, two sister-in-laws; Diana Olson and Peggy Olson, and a brother-in-law; Michael Mavrick, also special friends; Carol Day, Ruth Reibly, Jennifer Denney and Dan Becker. He is loved by numerous nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Craig J. Olson and Brian A. Olson, sister; Gerri Mavrick and brother-in-law; Charles Whybrew.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 4-7:30pm with a Memorial Service to follow. Alton Johns officiating at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 W. Canal St. Peru. Friends and family may leave condolences online at www.riverviewfhperu.com
