William “Bill” Smith, 75 of Marion passed away at 9:35 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2026 at home.

Born on January 4, 1951, in Peru, he was the son of the late Charles Smith and Barbara (Morgan) Overman.

He was a 1969 Maconaquah High School graduate. Bill also served in the Indiana National Guard.

On September 16, 1972, he married Janice L. Stanfield, she survives.

He owned and operated Smith Tri County Equipment Inc. for over 40 years.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Smith of Marion, his brothers and sister, Charlie and Lola Smith of Lafayette, Carol and Leon Ebert of Frankton, Roger and Patty Smith of Noblesville, Tim Smith of Frankton, Darrell Smith of Huntington, Brian and Tya Smith of Peru and Gary and Tonya Smith of Greentown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Riverview Event Center, 421 W. Canal St., Peru.

A time of sharing memories will follow at 12:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Lighthouse of Bunker Hill and/or the Miami County Animal Shelter.
