Robert “Bobby” Wilson Ellis, 71, of Peru, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Blair Ridge Health Campus in Peru. Robert was born on March 1, 1954, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to the late Robert W. and Joyce F. (Spurr) Ellis.
Bobby worked as a car salesman in Peru for many years, the Miami County Prison, and later at the Maennerchor in Peru where he met many friends. Bobby was very involved in the community and was a member of the Maennerchor, Eagles, Elks, Moose Lodge, and the VFW.
In his free time Bobby enjoyed watching NASCAR, and he enjoyed watching the IndyCar Series. Bobby never met a stranger and had the gift to make friends everywhere. Those that knew Bobby knew he did not live a boring life. Bobby wanted to express to all of his friends that he loved them.
Surviving Bobby include a son; Paul Ellis, sisters; Brenda (David) Hartleroad, Wanda Ellis, niece; Brianne Hartleroad, and nephews; David Hartleroad, James (Sara) Ellis, Jarrod (Angela) Ellis.
A graveside service honoring the life of Bobby will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru. Friends are welcomed to gather at the cemetery.
