Kenny Bedwell went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 8, 1941, in Bassfield, Mississippi, and moved with his family to Peru, Indiana, in 1953.
Kenny proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, California, for four years. He later began a long and dedicated career with Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he worked for 38 years before retiring as an Engineer.
Kenny was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Kokomo since 1978.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Bedwell (whom he met when they were teenagers). Kenny is also survived by his children: Roxanne (Willie) Bledsoe of Lafayette, Steve (Elva) Bedwell of Peru, Keenan Buchanan of Peru, Troy Buchanan of Peru, and Elizabeth Brooks of Florida, grandchildren; Shelbee (Nick) Sheridan, Virginia; Skyla Buchanan, Marion; Cierra (Travis) Rushing, Anderson; Alyssa (Johnny) Bauer, Florida; Seth Brooks, Florida; Karina Lewis, Lafayette; Adam (Michelle) Bedwell, Arizona; and Andrew (Josie) Bedwell, Peru and 12 great- grandchildren whom he adored.
Kenny is survived by his sisters Shirley Leggett, Texas, Alice Cox, Mississippi, Linda (Don) Baker, Texas, Barbara Didone, Louisiana, Glenda Williams, Texas, and his brother Michael Bedwell, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his sisters Marrie Coffin and Linda Queeney, and his brother Frank Bedwell.
A private family viewing was held at Riverview Funeral Home, with burial following at Ever Rest Memorial Park Cemetery.
