Janet Loraine Koon

Janet L. Koons, 79 of Peru passed away peacefully at 12:45 am, Friday, June 26, 2026 at home surrounded by family.

Born on January 6, 1947 in Milan, she was the daughter of the late Omer and Nell (Shanklin) Struckman.

On July 25, 1965 she married Raymond E. Koons. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2023.

She was a retired CNA and a homemaker. Janet enjoyed crafts, crocheting and cooking for everyone. She was a member of Abundant Life Church in Peru.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Bellamy and husband Rick of Peru and sister, Carol Beam and husband Duane. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her daughters, Marie Koons and Danielle Koons and brother, James Struckman.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Riverview Funeral Home in Peru.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be at Marion National Cemetery.
