Howard E. Bockover, 67, of Peru, passed away at his home on the evening of September 15, 2019 with his loving family by his side. Howard was born on November 4, 1951 in Peru to the late Freddie and Georgia (Spradling) Bockover. He was a 1970 graduate of Peru High School and attended Indiana State University. On June 25, 1983 he married Lynn Stanton and she survives.
Howard was an outdoorsman and loved rabbit, deer and bird hunting with his dogs. He was a loving PaPa and father. He was also an avid New York Yankees fan. In high school Howard played football and baseball. He was a lifelong carpenter and craftsman who built his own home and worked on many buildings throughout the Peru community.
He is survived by his wife; Lynn, sons; Jacob (Bridgette) Bockover and Joseph Bockover, twin grandsons; Gabriel Shawn and Owen Howard Bockover, in laws; Paul and Carolyn Stanton, sister in laws; Stella Lybrook and Gloria Bockover, brother in law; David Stanton and sister in law; Susand Stanton Arthur, several nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, several close “Brothers”, and his dog, Bode.
He is preceded in death by brothers; Fred, Bill, Jay and John Bockover and niece; Shannon Bockover.
Services have been entrusted to Riverview Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life with be held at The Firehouse, 12 N. Miami St. in Peru on Sept. 27th from 1pm – 4pm with services at 4pm, Pastor James Loft officiating. Memorial donations can be sent to IU Health Foundation, attn Lung Transplant Program, 1633 N.
