Blake Matthew-Wayne Walsh

Blake Matthew-Wayne Walsh, 23, of Peru, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Peru. Blake was born July 11, 2002, in Peru to John Walsh and Virginia (Hyde) Gibson.

Blake was currently working construction at Nice & Dry Renovations in Peru. In his free time, Blake’s favorite thing to do was spend as much time as he could with his children, and his family. He enjoyed playing fortnight, driving and working on his Charger, playing basketball with his friends, and spending time with his pet alligator named Ali. Blake had an infectious smile and met many friends throughout the years.

Surviving Blake include his children; Noah Walsh, Autum Walsh, brothers; Tristain and Levi Gibson, father; John Walsh, grandmother; Patricia Gibson, grandfather; Dockie Ray Gibson; the mother of his children; Jasmine Dewitt, his loving girlfriend; Alexus Hackworth, and aunts, uncles, and several nieces and nephews.

Blake was preceded in death by his mother; Virginia Gibson, grandmother; Diane Sears.

A funeral service honoring the life of Blake will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, beginning at 1 pm, located at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 West Canal Street, Peru, with Pastor Carol Wilson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Rayburn Cemetery in Peru.
