Asie Harding, 93, of Peru, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Marion VA Medical Center. Asie was born on June 20, 1931 in Baxter, Tennessee to the late Bill and Clemmie (Herron) Harding.
Asie served in the Korean War for 4 years for the United States Army. In his free time Asie loved being outdoors and tending to his garden. He enjoyed to fish and do anything outdoors related. Asie loved to dance, and he was known for his quick-witted sense of humor. He also loved to make people smile. He was an active member of the local VFW, the Literary Aid, and a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Oakdale. His most cherished time was spent with his loving family.
Surviving Asie include son; Jack (Darleen) Harding, brother; Junior (Ann) Harding, grandchildren; Janel Harding, Amy Chilcutt, great-grandchildren; Macy Chilcutt, Emry Chilcutt, Marley Harding, Gentry Willaims.
Preceding Asie in death include his daughter; Frieda Musall, and a sister; Janette Miller.
A funeral service honoring the life of Asie will be held on Thursday May 15, 2025, at 2 pm, with Pastor Bud Sparks officiating, located at Riverview Funeral Home, 421 West Canal Street, Peru. Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon until the time of the service Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery where Military Rites will be performed.
