John W. Jaberg, 85, Peru, passed away on the morning of October 15, 2019 at his home. He was born in Peru on August 25, 1934 to the late George and Margaret (Anderson) Jaberg. While on leave he Married Beverly Jane in Tucson, AZ on August 3, 1957.
John attended Peru High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served our country from 1956-58, while enlisted he spent time aboard the USS Epping Forest. John retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad in 1996 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed NASCAR and Bluegrass music.
Surviving John are his three children, Brenda Zell, Galveston, Bryan (Lana) Jaberg, Peru and Laura Golder, Peru, grandchildren, Nick (Mindy) Jaberg, Denver, Chris Jaberg, Indianapolis, Brandon Zell, Galveston, Charity (Doug) Brown, Lafayette and Danny (Jennie) Thiry, Denver, great grandchildren, Sophia, Alexander, Morgan, Casey, Tyler and Carter, siblings, Marilyn Boswell and Don (Judy) Jaberg.
He was preceded by his parents, wife, and sister, Francis McVetty.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at 1pm at Riverview Funeral Home. Friends may visit the family from 11am until the time of service at 1pm. Chapel Ministries Outreach will be officiating. Family and friends can sign the guestbook at www.riverviewfhperu.com
