Betty E. Kingery

Betty E. (Lewis) Kingery, 88, of Peru, passed away peacefully at Miller’s Merry Manor of Peru on August 20, 2017. She was born on October 9, 1928 in Madison, WI. to the late Calvert and Florence (Crowder) Lewis. On October 5, 1947, she married the love of her life Paul F. Kingery Sr. and he preceded her on October 24, 1999.

She was a very simple woman who was always full of life and made sure her presence was felt when entering a room. She and Paul were very involved with St. Charles Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. You could always count on Betty for a hot cup of coffee.

She was survived by her sons, Paul (Deloris) Kingery Jr. of Peru, Brian Kingery of Peru, Robert (Lisa) Kingery of Peru; daughters, Vickie (Gary) Stahl of Pensacola FL., Alethea (Terry) Hendrix of Peru; brothers, Keith and Aldon Lewis, sister, Annette Minns, grandchildren, Craig (Sheree) Hendrix, Michelle (Travis) Brooks, Jason Stahl, Christopher (Leslie) Hendrix, Lenora (Adrian) Quarto, Mark Stahl and Celeste Hughes, great-grandchildren, Baleigh Hendrix, Caitlin Hughes, Caleb Hughes, Tabitha and Nora Brooks, Evelyn Hendrix and Avey and Indi Quarto and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by 5 sisters and 4 brothers and grandchild Tammy Kingery.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Rev. Adam Mauman officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Family and friends may gather from 2-5:30 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home on Friday, August 25, 2017 with a Rosary Recitation at 5:30 p.m. In leau of flowers donations can be made to The St. Charles Interior Renovation Fund.
